Interview Coaching | 7 Things to Avoid at Interview

Interview Coaching Tips

  1. Arriving Unprepared – Sounds obvious!! Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!!
  2. Talking Negatively About Past Employers – don’t do it, not a good look!!
  3. Lying or Exaggerating – you will be caught out! Focus on selling skills, experience, and achievements you have, rather that lying!!
  4. Asking About Salary or Holidays – Mostly wait for the employer to bring up these issues. NB: There are a few exceptions!
  5. Asking Silly Questions – ONLY ask real or meaningful questions. DON’T ask questions for the sake of it, especially if you found them via Chat GPT or Google
  6. Not Selling Yourself – This is the biggest issue I see. Interviewees NOT selling themselves. This really comes back to point 1, preparation!!
  7. Forgetting to Follow Up – This show interest, could tip the balance in your favour!!
