Capability Interview = Competency Based Interview + Traditional Interview

Capability interviews require you to provide evidence and examples of past behaviour (AKA competency based interview). On top of this, capability interviews will explore your things like your knowledge, skills, strengths, values, motivation, and interests (AKA traditional interview). You see, you’ve actually experienced them before. Only thing different is the new name!!

So, don’t panic!!

The key to success is preparation. Below are a few key tips to help you!!

COMPETENCY BASED INTERVIEW COMPONENT

  1. Understand what the competencies mean – your MAP
  2. Pick your most recent and relevant examples
  3. Know how to structure your answers
  4. Write out your answers in a “skinny” format (less daunting)

TRADITIONAL INTERVIEW COMPONENT

  1. Know your CV
  2. Be able to answer the 10 common interview questions
  3. And, remember, on the day, DON’T be a mannequin!!
