Interview Tips & Advice – Job Interview Questions
It’s impossible to predict the exact questions you’ll be asked at a job interview. Having said this, there are a few common questions during traditional interviews. I’ve outlined these questions below. It’s worthwhile preparing answers for these questions before your interview. Answer these questions effectively and you’ll make a positive impact.
Talk me through your CV?
Tell me about your current role?
Answers to these questions must be relevant and impactful. Highlight key information that’s relevant to the role you’re targeting. Highlight key achievements/results to make your answer more impactful. Show the interviewer how you’ve made a difference or added value.
Why should we hire you?
What are your strengths?
What are your unique selling points?
The interviewer wants to know why they should buy your product. You MUST focus on the job requirements and how you’ll add value. Pick a maximum of 4/5 relevant points. Highlight evidence/examples to strengthen these points. You MUST deliver these answers convincingly and you MUST believe in what you’re saying.
Why do you want to work for us?
What attracts you to this role?
What do you know about our company?
Do you have any questions for us?
The above questions are all assessing your interest in the job/company. You MUST have strong responses to these questions. You won’t be hired if an employer doubts your interest.
What are your salary expectations?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Why are you leaving your current role? (Why did you leave your last job?)
A few more ad hoc job interview questions. They are asked regularly, so prepare impactful answers in advance of interview.
